Panchgani famous for its natural beauty and fresh air climate. Its natural beauty and close vicinity to the cities of Mahabaleshwar has
made Panchgani a popular tourist attraction.
Most people driving to Mahabaleshwar pass through Panchgani which is only about 20 Kilometers from Mahabaleshwar one of India’s
popular hill stations famous for its strawberry farms.
Panch in Hindi language means five, Panchgani is surrounded by five hill top plateaus and hence the name Panchgani.
In Panchgani table top is the most popular plateau and the other hill top plateaus can be seen from here. Horse riding, is popular on the
table top and many vendors are seen here with horses offering tourists the opportunity to ride a horse and explore the vast plateau.
Several monkeys very tourist friendly live here.
There is also a natural air cooled cave here which requires some climbing down a flight of stairs.
Panchgani is known for its many boarding schools where students from the nearby cities such as Mumbai and Pune study. Some of
Panchgani schools are visible from the table top plateau and it is a place photographers would love as it provides 360 degrees of
picturesque scenery.
The temperature in Panchgani is around 12C during the winter and around 30 C during the summer months.
Panchgani is 285 Kilometers from Mumbai and about 100 Kilometers from Pune. Best of all it is only about 20 Kilometers from
Mahabaleshwar.
