No visit to Goa is complete until you have taken a boat tour in Goa. There are many boat cruises offered to tourists visiting Goa, India. I visited Goa in January 2011 and was able to enjoy a day and also an evening boat cruise. Both the day and late evening boat tours are an experience in itself and well worth the cost. The cost of a boat cruise that lasts one hour, was only Rupees 150.  Boat cruises are a major attraction in Goa with both domestic Indian and the large number of foreigners that visit Goa every year. People say that a holiday in Goa will remain incomplete and imperfect without a river cruise.  Ideally you can explore Goa in the day time and in the evening enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Mandovi River. While cruising on the Mandovi River you can enjoy the songs and dance numbers that are presented by local performers on the boat. Tickets for Goa boat cruise can be purchased from most hotel lobbies and also directly at the entrance, just before boarding the cruise boat. Normally when you buy the tickets at hotel lobbies, pick and drop to the hotel is included in the price. You probably save Rupees 20 by buying them directly. We bought the tickets at our hotel lobby and the hotel car dropped and picked us up after the cruise, not bad for just Rupees 150 a person. There is also a casino ship on the river Mandovi. The casino is located on a 215 foot cruise ship that is permanently docked at the Panjim port. This casino ship can have approximately 300 or so guests who can enjoy playing popular casino games such as Black Jack, American Roulette, Stud Poker etc. Tickets can be purchased for the casino boats also from most hotels where guests stay.
