Jaisalmer Rajasthan Video clips of popular tourist places to visit
Sunset Watching in the desert
Jaisalmer tour is not complete until you watch the sunset from the desert. The best place to watch the sunset in Jaisalmer is from the Sam Sand
Dunes located about 40 Kilometers from the main city of Jaisalmer.
No cars can go up to the point where tourists watch the sunset, so camels are used to reach the top point to get the best views.
It's like a mini carnival there with a lot of people coming on camels to view the sunset.
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words (I wonder what a video is worth!) Here is a video showing the sunset when we recently
visited Jaisalmer Sam Sand Dunes.
Desert Camp Hotels in Jaisalmer - Girl Dancing in the desert
Staying in a tent in the middle of the desert is an adventure in itself.
There are now almost 80 desert tent camps around Jaisalmer for tourist to stay during their visit to Jaisalmer.
During our visit to Jaisalmer, we spent one night in a desert camp.
We stayed in a Swiss tent in the desert, the tent was air-conditioned, had a separate attached bathroom with running hot/cold water.
Desert camps of this type include meals and entertainment as part of the stay package.
The video here shows the evening dance show at the Winds Desert Camp where we stayed.
Camel defies owner
This video was shot when we were in the desert waiting to see the sunset in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
At the sand dunes, camel carriages give tourists rides and small tours around the desert.
These camel carriages are mainly for those who may not be comfortable riding a camel.
Since these camel cart carriage owners charge per passenger, they try get as many people as they can on a cart without realizing that the poor
camel has to pull the load.
Here I saw a camel carriage owner who had overloaded his camel taxi, trying to force the camel to move. However the camel refused to budge and
fought back! forcing the owner to take off some passengers to lighten the load.
I think the camel owner was quite upset and perhaps would have hit the camel had he not seen, that I was shooting this video. He eventually gave
up and took off some passengers and then finally got the camel to pull the carriage
