It is said to be the largest mosque in India and approximately 25,000 people can pray here at a time. In 2011 according to news reports in the Indian media, A new mosque to be built in Kerala will soon become the largest mosque in India where 25,000 to 30,000 people can pray at a time. This will make Jama Masjid the second largest in India.
