Mahabaleshwar is located about 125 kilometers southwest of Pune and 285 kilometers from Mumbai, Mahabaleshwar bound by
scenic valleys on all sides. At its highest peak, it reaches a height of 1,439 meters above sea level to a place known as Sunrise
Point.
Traveling to Mahabaleshwar by road tourists will find winding roads along scenic mountains on both sides of roads. Periodically
there are small hut type temporary sheds set up by local vendors of neighboring villages to sell various items such as refreshment
items.
Cars entering Mahabaleshwar are charged a toll as they enter the city of Mahabaleshwar. Toll is based on the car and number of
passengers.
Mahabaleshwar boat club is where tourists can rent boats or go for boat rides as a group. Boat Club and lake are visible as tourists
drive in to Mahabaleshwar after the toll points.
Once in the interior of Mahabaleshwar be prepared to do quite a bit of walking if you wish to truly explore the various tourist
places. Popular visiting points are Lodwick Point, Monkey Point, Carnac Point, Falkland Point, Helen’s Point, Elephant Head,
Mumbai Point, Marjorie Point and Babington Point.
